Ornaments

It’s holiday crafting time at my house. First up is an ornament exchange with the Anchorage Modern Quilt Guild. I can never make just one ornament and I had empty glass bulbs in my craft room. I filled them with bits of antique lace, trim, ribbon, buttons and yo-yos. They look festive and if the recipients desire, the goodies inside can be removed with the aid of tweezers.

stockings

A week later, the Anchorage Log Cabin Quilters night group is meeting. We are making and filling stockings for needy children. These are the stockings I created with fabric provided by one of the members and a few pieces from my stash for the ruffled cuffs. I may make a few more – the pattern is easy and quick. I plan to fill the stockings with coloring books, crayons, candy and small toys.

This pattern is similar to what we are using – though we are not including batting.

  1. You get more done in a day than I do all year!
