Citrus Quilt Blocks

The Anchorage Modern Quilt Guild has begun hosting challenges to make quilt blocks to for charity quilts. The blocks due in July were to be 12” finished and use citrus colors. I pulled fabrics from my stash to make orange, lemon and lime blocks.

Orange Block

The orange block let me practice piecing letters and numbers and roundish shapes. It so cute I almost didn’t part with it.

Lime Blocks

Lime blocks are wonky nine patch – I learned I need to keep better track of which pieces go where – seams had to be ripped out.

Lemon Block

I did improvisational piecing for the lemon block. It sort of became a sunburst or odd wedge like thing but ultimately it’s happy yellow.
