Kitty in the Garden

Kitty in Garden (12” x 8.5”)

The scraps from the Love My Bike quilt were shuffled around my studio for a few weeks.
        Blue and green flowers
        Gray and white strips
Scraps of orange and pink that I cut, auditioned and rejected

Last weekend they came together with scraps of blue from the Almost Ticker Taper quilt, a few stems from green scraps and the shape of a cat.

Fuse it all together, make a quilt sandwich and have fun adding lots of free motion stitching. Dig out scraps of pre-made bias binding and an art quilt honoring my gray cat is done.

I used white as the backing fabric so I could see the results of my free motion stitching better. The stitches weren’t all great, but I can’t get better unless I keep practicing.

  1. You must really have spring fever,,,this is making me want to go ourside and play in nature. I am working on a couple but what with packing and all it is going slow,,,,priorities suck sometimes.
    Have an awesome weekend.

  2. It’s a Dexter quilt! I love it!
