Fabrics speak to me. A collection of ombre fabrics told me they would be there perfect sky, water and earth for a new series I had been contemplating. Once I took the ombre fabrics home, I began to noticing how the sky goes from light to dark and the water sometimes does the opposite. I noticed how the mountains in the foreground seem darker than those further away. The fabric helped me to see the world and just how I could mimic it in my art quilts.
Many sketches and lots of stitching later – my Alaska Adventure series came together. I hope you enjoy seeing each one as much as I enjoyed creating them.
