The photo booth accessories are stitched in place – they are adorable. Now to add the tape measure belt and perhaps a small sign about the photo booth.

She looks a little blah now but soon she will be cupcake baker.

I saw a photo in a catalog, a girl on her bike – I was smitten. I made the pattern and traced it onto fusible webbing and put it in a drawer. Seeing it now in this state – wow! I look forward to seeing how it shines with outline stitching.

New background quilted and girl added – I think she may need stacks and stacks of books.

I like the ruffles. I like the tape measure belt. The photo booth accessories are adorable. Am I ready to fuse and stitch everything in place? I’ll sleep on it, but the longer I stare at the photo, the more I like it.

I love how with stitching and embellishments, the personality of each girl starts to emerge.

With a few binder clips and clothespins, the shelves in my studio become a design wall.

Choices, choices – auditioning which girl will go on which background. A few adjustments to arms and legs may be needed but liking how these are turning out.

Many girls have been constructed from fused fabrics. They look great decorating my wall even without their backgrounds and stitching.

A few art quilt backgrounds in progress. Fabric was fused to batting, the backing applied and then lots of stitching. Most of the stitching was done via free motion quilting except the yellow zebra stripe one which I did with straight stitches and decorative stitching.
