I sketched my first boy pattern. Here he is fused on the quilt. Sort of plain at the moment.

Sometimes my mind needs a break from art quilts. I’m auditioning the placement of these crocheted flowers, stems and various shapes in green brown and purple on a piece of burlap.

The bike is ironed in place on the quilt. The bike is outline stitched with black thread.

11 bigger art quilts ready for their sleeves to be hand stitched in place.

Once I have a batch of quilts completed, it’s time for photography. I tape bright white fabric to my dining room wall, turn on some super bright lights and set up the tripod.

My quilt guild posed a challenge in which we were to create a small quilt based on a children’s book/story. I picked Dr. Suess’ Oh, the Places You’ll Go! I changed the guy in yellow to be a girl and added my favorite line from book to the quilt.

A smaller quilt begins. Is she at a picnic? Perhaps she needs a boyfriend? I’ve never added a boy but there has to be a first sometime.

I added this little record player on my yellow quilt with the girl in grey. It is so adorable, I may want to make another record player on a small quilt all by itself.
