When I was collecting ideas for my art show, I came across an ad in a magazine of a little girl in a yellow coat. I just had to take the happy little girl running through a kitchen in the ad and put her outside. She creates her own happy (5” x 10”)

This green fabric begged for sunshine and blue skies. The girl ventured out in boots and a floral dress. She celebrates today (8” x 9”)

I haven’t shared the details of some quilts created last year – this girl was part of the American Quilter magazine article (Nov 2013). I smile each time I see her under skirt peeking out beneath the dimensional skirt. I used my Happy Girls pattern and a random patchwork background of yellow. I was sad
