Holiday Girls in Paper and Giveaway

I am beginning to love creating paper collages with fusible webbing as the glue.

These girls were constructed with scrapbook paper backgrounds, dictionary pages for skin, white card stock with a lace overlay for dresses and black card stock for hair. They are outlined with ink and each one holds a string of ornaments or garland.

I stitched the collages to scrapbook paper backings with ribbon hangers. I added holiday sayings like ‘happy happy,’ ‘finding joy,’ ‘celebrate everyday’ and ‘happy holidays.’

I have one to give away. She on red and says ‘joy to all.’ Want her? Leave a comment telling me the gift you are most excited to give this year before midnight on Dec 21st. I’ll select a random winner on the 22nd.

  1. I made an applique fox on a shirt for my grandson who is so into foxes these days. So I am excited to give him that and see what he thinks. He loves things that Grandam makes for him. He’s only 6 so I hope he continues to love handmade things from me as he gets older.

  2. Teresa Knittingdancer

I gave away a skein of sugarcane yarn in a beautiful hunter green at our knitting guild’s Christmas party.

  3. My dad and sister and I bought my mom a tablet for Christmas, so I’m excited about how she’ll react to receiving that – she always likes using my sister’s iPad when she’s in town to visit.

  4. I stitched up a quilted pillow for my husband’s grandpa. It has his favorite football team’s logo on one side and a huge cathedral window quilt block on the other. In the last couple of years, he’s lost his wife and had to move into an assisted living apartment so I’m hoping it will make him feel cozy and loved there.

  5. I sent my dad a (paper pieced) cushion of a trillium with a linen border and flange that I LOVE and hope he loves too!!! He used to work for the Ontario government so the trillium is the flower of Ontario so it should be special..

  6. I have made a lap quilt for the father of my closest friend, he is more of a father to me than my own dad and I wanted to make him something special.

  7. I am very excited to give handmade drawstring bags to my daughter and her friends. Each one is very different and sewn to reflect their tastes. I don’t think any of them is expecting such a gift! I love your joy girls!

  8. Love your ladies! You’re so talented! I’m sewing away in a tablerunner I’m making for my sister.

Thank you for a super giveaway and a chance to win.

  10. So cute – love them! I have several toys from the 80s that are all cleaned up that I’m going to pass on to my niece and nephew this year. I hope they’ll love them as much as I have.

  11. Those are amazing! I am giving my son an Xbox which will be a big surprise. And trying to make some knitted gifts as well.

  12. I am most excited to give toys to a 4 yr. old boy and 6 yr. old girl that my class at Church is helping this Christmas. Their parents have been having some hardships financially so this should make Christmas special for them. As usual, I love, love, love your work.

  13. I hope you have a wonder*filled Christmas and wishing you a fabulous New Year a head. I have a good connection for a change so I’m gonna go check out what you’ve been up to. Big hug.
