{"id":869,"date":"2012-03-25T18:40:04","date_gmt":"2012-03-26T02:40:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/?p=869"},"modified":"2012-03-25T18:57:22","modified_gmt":"2012-03-26T02:57:22","slug":"hometown-reunion-working-big","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/?p=869","title":{"rendered":"Hometown Reunion &#038; Working Big"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/wpid-DSC03778-2012-03-25-18-40.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-DSC03778-2012-03-25-18-40.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"626\"\/><br \/>\nHometown Reunion (52\u00e2\u20ac\u009d x 52\u00e2\u20ac\u009d)<\/p>\n<p>I pieced together 144 5\u00e2\u20ac\u009d squares of Hometown and Reunion fabrics with some Ash Kona and 4 squares of unknown origin that came with the Hometown charm pack created by a local quilt shop.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/wpid-DSC03793-2012-03-25-18-40.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-DSC03793-2012-03-25-18-40.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"495\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s backed in medium gray Kona and quilted in concentric squares &#8211; my favorite method of quilting throw size or smaller quilts.  <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/wpid-DSC03777-2012-03-25-18-40.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-DSC03777-2012-03-25-18-40.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"497\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a bit blah after finishing Pezzy Thread, but it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s done!<\/p>\n<p>My dining room wall (the largest accessible wall in the house) has been stripped of all artwork and I have more than 80 half square triangles measuring 9\u00e2\u20ac\u009d each taped to the wall as I work out the design of 2 quilt tops.  I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t seem to stop working on larger quilts which will be holiday gifts for family and friends.  The repetition of stitch, press, repeat is very different from my art quilt process; it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s almost hypnotic which is good given the stress of my day job lately.  Soon ideas for smaller art quilts will bubble to the surface demanding to be created.
