Scraps of blue fabrics are placed on the background and fused in place.  The edges are left raw and fraying is encouraged.  Backing fabric is added and I begin the quilting &#8211; lots of stitched dahlias.  <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/wpid-DSC03301-2012-02-19-16-53.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-DSC03301-2012-02-19-16-53.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"378\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The girl is drawn onto fusible webbing and assembled from text fabric for her skin, white tone on tone fabric for her dress and torn, ruffled muslin strips for her skirt and a bit of brown fabric for her head.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/wpid-DSC03302-2012-02-19-16-53.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-DSC03302-2012-02-19-16-53.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"426\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The crocheted lace trim is the star of this dress.
