Who would present it to her when they were all together in September (a few of them live far way).<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/wpid-Idea-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-Idea-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"756\"\/><br \/>\nAfter exchanging email from the girls about their family and what they hoped to see in the quilt, I sketched an idea for a quilt and pulled out fabrics that I planned to use.   With the okay from the daughters, I got started.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/wpid-inprogress-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-inprogress-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"356\"\/><br \/>\nI fused and stitched a background based on Alaska in the summer and created the girls and their mom using several of my patterns.  Before fusing the girls to the quilt, I sent a photo asking for confirmation that everything looked okay.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/wpid-DSC02764-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-DSC02764-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"348\"\/><br \/>\nI made some minor modifications and finished the quilt.   It measures 28\u00e2\u20ac\u009d x 19\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/wpid-DSC02768-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-DSC02768-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"378\"\/><br \/>\nThe project was tremendous fun and it was such a joy to work with the daughters.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/wpid-DSC02798-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-DSC02798-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"378\"\/><br \/>\nEvery detail honored the personality of the daughters and their mom, from hairstyle, shoes, dress color, the chain of hearts and forget-me-not flowers.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.believemagic.com\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/wpid-DSC02775-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" alt=\"wpid-DSC02775-2013-10-7-19-34.jpg\" width=\"504\" height=\"378\"\/><br \/>\nI still have the sketch on my wall, it makes me smile every time I see it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During my art show in May, I was asked to create a custom art quilt for a mom, a gift from her 3 daughters.
