Flowers Bloom Joy

The outline stitching added so much detail to this girl. This was a rare process for me – fussy cutting flowers and leaves, her neck and carefully planning what words would display on her face. I love how the ‘blush’ on her cheeks highlights the smile text.

The bright colors pop off the indigo background.

As the flowers bloom so does her joy (10” x 15”)

I had fun making this larger girl (well, her head) and have visions of similar quilts dancing in my mind. She is for a flower themed show at the gallery that will be on display in April. I’m looking forward to seeing all the blooming artwork!
